Reef Diving

The reefs that span the coastline of Dauin feature incredible biodiversity of both fish and corals. These reefs are accessible right from shore and follow a gentle slope down to around 20m depth. We regularly find turtles, clownfish, blue-spotted rays, moray eels, and rarely even whalesharks.

Muck Diving

Dauin is most famous for muck diving. In contrast to reef diving, muck dive sites consist of sandy, silty areas, or areas covered in rocks instead of coral. At first, these dive sites seem desolate, with very little coral or colors to catch your eye. But look closer and you might find some even more exotic and unusual creatures than you’re used to finding on a reef.

The sandy substrate creates a different ecology than the reef, which attracts some rarer species. At Dauin muck diving sites, you may see nudibranchs, frogfish, ghost pipefish, and more. At certain times of the year, you even have the chance to find creatures such as the blue-ringed octopus, wonderpus, and mimic octopus too!
